1st Astros game!

So tonight was Christian's 1st Astros game, and the occasion was that the Astros organization recognized all Houston area baseball and softball district champion teams. They recognized the head coach and team captain out on the field prior to the game! It was pretty neat, proud of my Brook Softball girls!! Christian loved the game, he kept yelling "hit the ball"!! So cute! A night with him I'll cherish forever!

Christian and I went across the street to our friend Paige & Matt's house. They have a little girl who is a month older than Christian, her name is Elena. They play pretty often, mostly they argue over toys, but never the less they do enjoy each other's company. Anyway, Paige and Matt invited us over for the football game last Sunday. Paige is an elementary music teacher so they have a piano in their house. Here is Christian playing. He was WAY into it.....umm....whatever makes him happy, right parents???? :/

Ok so I just put some random pics on here. Christian and I are always going to different parks, and we found a really neat one in a neighborhood close to my moms. So there are some pics from that. Many of you know how much my mom enjoys cooking, and Christian loves to watch her cook. He is enjoying some whip cream in some pics that she made. I frequently take Christian jogging with me, in his stroller of course. If I go for extended periods of time he falls asleep. Here's a pic of him asleep after one of my runs. I just hung out outside while he slept lol. And lastly, here are some pics of Christian standing on a stool tonight singing for his audience that consisted of ME, well and Roxy the dog. And then he clapped for himself. So funny and so adorable. This age is such a blast!! He turns 18 months on Sunday! Time is flying!

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope everyone had a nice Christmas with their loved ones. Ours was great of course! Christian loved his bike, and loves opening presents!! He's been trying to open presents (literally) for the past 2 days, so it was nice to finally give them to him and let him go at it! There are some other pictures on here of when Santa visited my moms house Tuesday. Christian of course is TERRIFIED of Santa, he's never held on to me so hard! But, he loosened up a little and gave him a high five by the end of his visit. Maybe next year? Merry Christmas again!

Christian's 1st Christmas Play...

Christian Tyler- 17 1/2 months

Yesterday was a big day for Christian, it was his first of many Christmas plays. It was held at his daycare, Almost Home. Almost Home is an amazing in home daycare, ran by Rita Clark in the picture below with Christian. I am sad to say that Christian will be leaving and attending a new daycare out by my mom's house, but I feel very good about his new place. He will be attending Greystone House Montessori. Christian loved Rita's, but I know he will adapt and do great at his new daycare as they are also a "family" atmosphere. Anyhow, back to his Christmas play. He didn't play a "major" part, but he was the Cow! And little Kailee Dibble played the Lamb. They were sooo cute!! Christian did so good, he just sat there. They performed the play in Rita's garage, which you'd never known. It looked like a small stage. It was decorated so nicely, they did awesome!! Christian had fans in the audience that consisted of Mommy of course, sissy Chloe, Mimi and PaPa. There was a little party afterwards with amazing food, and also Santa Claus made a stop in to see the kids, Christian was of course scared of him lol. Check out the pics below. They are great! What a great morning we had!! My mom and I took Christian to a Kid's Fun Run at Memorial Park this morning. It only cost $5 and he got a t-shirt and a medal, CAN'T BEAT THAT!! It was a race strictly for toddlers aged 3 and under. And there were a TON of toddlers!! Christian wasn't sure what to think of it all, but he ran anyway! It was really cute. I got a good run in at Memorial as well, so it worked out great for everyone! I don't know how many fun run's we'll do, but here's his first!

Christian and I decided to spend Thanksgiving this year with my dad and Kalani. I haven't had Thanksgiving with my dad in well... I don't even know. I'm really glad we went over there. It was a lot of fun, such a warm, family atmosphere! Christian had a great time--hope your Thanksgiving was great. Enjoy the pics of my little man, growing up VERY fast!! Despite both Christian and myself being under the weather, we made it a GREAT weekend anyway, or at least we tried! We went to Herman Park and the Butterfly Museum Saturday, he actually liked the butterfly museum. Sunday we painted a pumpkin, which of coursed turned into Christian painting himself. No worries, washable crayola paint people! Overall, it was a good weekend.

It was a great day! Spent a lot of time outside with Christian enjoying the weather. Went to Kemah that night to celebrate my Grandma's 79th birthday at the aquarium and we rode the train. It was so fun!

I took Christian to the zoo for the first time yesterday! You always wonder how they will react their first time, but he loved it...he was so wide eyed to everything..it was so much fun! We will definitely be getting a season pass so we can go back all the time! We just went at our own pace and took it all in! I let him walk around and explore, we rode the carousel, and the train...it was great! I can't wait until the next trip!

My dad agreed to come over and fix our pool pump for us, which saved us $100, we were very thankful for that! Christian decided to help him, he was quite the sidekick. Train Ride in Kemah

A while back we took Christian down to Kemah for the first time to have his first ever train ride! He wasn't sure what to think of it, he just sat back and took it all in...it was fun! This first picture is when we were riding through this tunnel that was really loud and I knew Christian would get scared so I covered his ears in anticipation!! Look at his face!!

Happy Birthday to Christian!! I just can't believe my little guy is ONE today!! This past year has flown by, so many wonderful memories. Christian is just such an awesome little boy, so happy and full of smiles. He is walking now so good, yesterday he said his first word- UH OH! I said it and he repeated me, it was hilarious, and he's been saying it ever since :)

So tomorrow we are having his party, yes on the 4th! But I wanted to do some things today with him, just us so we could really take him all in. He got his first haircut today, it looks so cute...After dinner tonight he got to enjoy his first ever cake, and he dug right into it. I mean he didn't hesitate at all, he just went for it. Here are a few pics of the action. I'll post more pics of his party later!!

Summer is Here!!

So summer has kicked in full gear at our house and I've discovered Christian's favorite snack...I'm sure you have all seen those mesh bags that hold fruit that they can suck on...well he LOVES it. I put strawberries or fresh peach in it, he sucks on it and the juice runs all over him. It's adorable. Here are some pics.

Camping trip

I had big plans to go to the Womens College World Series this past weekend , so Jason decided to take his dad up on a camping trip offer! They packed up both Chloe & Christian and went to Coleto Creek in Victoria for the weekend. It was Christian's 1st time in the camper and Jason said he loved it. Chloe went fishing, they rode on the boat, and swam a little....they saw an 8 foot alligator while fishing... of course it was AFTER they swam that they saw the 8 ft alligator...YIKES!! They had a good time though, as did I, even though I missed Christian like crazy!

Chloe graduated from Good Shepard last night and is ready to take on kindergarten!! She learned a lot this year from artwork to songs to experiments...she had a great time! The ceremony was so cute, the kids had learned a lot of new songs that they performed for us, it was adorable!! Chloe knew all the words and did great. Softball Season to a close...

Well as I'm sure I told you all, Chloe played softball for the first time this spring, she was on the 4-5 year old team, it was tee ball. She had a great time, I'm not sure anyone actually ever got "out", but they learned the basics anyways, hit and run...:) Defense will come later..I'm hoping, as I'm such a defensive minded coach! Ok anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE tennis shoes, I mean I'd buy a new pair every month if I could, so buying Christian his first new pair is a really BIG deal to me!! And it was neat having my mom there, after all the hundreds of pairs of tennis shoes I begged her to buy me over the years!! I have yet to buy him a single pair of shoes, he goes barefoot everywhere...I finally broke down today and bought his some Nike Shox! He has to have the best of course!! We purchased them at Kids Foot Locker. The lady who helped us was great...he measures a size 4, but I bought him a 5. And supposedly he has a high arch so she recommended ones that tied and didn't velcro, OF COURSE!! Here are some pics at the shoe store of the special event!

So Christian is getting so big now and doing so many new things everyday, it's amazing! His newest thing is sitting up in his bed, I know big deal right? Well when you have never seen your child sit up in his bed, it's quite cute! The other day I walked into his room and he was standing in his bed holding on to the side of it! I couldn't believe it...he has only pulled himself up to a standing position a couple of times. He is starting to crawl now too...I love this age!! It is sooo fun, and he is so happy! So Christian will be 8 months old tomorrow, it's so hard to believe! Where has the time gone? He is sitting up all by himself now and will start crawling any day now! He has 2 teeth on the bottom, so stinkin cute! The 2 in the front on top are coming in...

Tonight Jason and I were having dinner and he was getting cranky so we put him in his room to have some "independent" play and here he is!! Pretty darn cute! I couldn't resist in taking some pics! Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, as most of you know I am right smack in the middle of season so it's crazy! Things should settle a little with district starting next week though, at least no more tournaments. The team is doing well, we are currently 8-5. The girls are really starting to find their rhythm as a team, they are a fun group to coach I tell ya! Jason made a great run this year finishing 3rd in district and headed to playoffs. He unfortunately matches up with the toughest district in houston 1st round so that's as far as they got! Still a great season. He is enjoying some down time now, and playing Mr. Mom! I got home from practice today and he had dinner waiting on me, it was awesome...He is a great husband!! Chloe has started her softball practices, it's going ok, she seems to be enjoying it...games start soon! Well, that's it for now, hopefully I'll update a little sooner this next time!

Chloe Cheyenne is now FIVE years old!!! She has grown so fast it seems, into a beautiful girl, might I add. She was sick all week and we were just praying she would be well for her party Saturday, especially since last year we had to cancel because she was sick! We decided to have a joint party this year and from now on with Kelly her mom, and that side of Chloe's family. It was great! We celebrated at Carla's house, Jason's mom, and they have the PERFECT set up for a kid's party. Their back yard is a paradise and so beautiful. They have a swing set for the kids, a miniature hill for them to play on, tree's everywhere, basketball goal, it's great!! We had a moonwalk for the kids to jump, her cake of course, the kids got to build their own ice cream sundae, and she got tons of cool presents!! Thanks to all who celebrated with us!! See ya next year!

We invited ourselves to the neighbors house one afternoon to check out their new swing set Brady got for Christmas, shows you how much we DON'T see our neighbors anymore!! It was a great afternoon, the kids had a good time and the swing set is very cool..The afternoon turned into dinner and kids baths at the Brewer's. Christian is finally old enough now to have this play table put together, and I have to tell you that I put it together all by myself! If any of you know my abilities or lack there of when it comes to this sort of thing, you would know what a huge feat this was!!! Never the less, Christian loves it, and it's never too old for the almost 5 year old either! They both love it! What you are seeing below is Chloe shaking and pushing Christian's chair, he absolutely LOVES it!!! He belly laughs the entire time!! It is seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen!!! It makes my heart melt seeing them play together, Christian adores her!! And then there are some pics of Christian wearing Paw-Paw's hat, they are so adorable!!! I had to show yall!

It of course was Christian's 1st Christmas, and being a 5 month old at Christmas time you really don't have a clue what is going on, HOWEVER your 4 year old sister knows exactly what is going on!!! I have never seen a child so excited about presents before...Chloe is hilarious. Every morning she would wake up and count her presents and about every other hour during the day. She would stack them to the side so we all knew which one's were her's.

And finally after setting out cookies, milk, and a letter to Santa we were all nestled in our beds awaiting Santa's arrival.

Christmas morning was great! Chloe opened present after present...Christian opened his present. He actually had the concept of tearing the paper, probably because his favorite thing to do right now is grab and pull!! It's great on the hair as all you mom's know!

As we wrapped up our morning together at home, we headed over to Jason's parents house for lunch and more present opening with the kiddos!

Oh and Christmas Eve was with my dad and Kalani...and on the 26th we headed over to my mom's to have Christmas with them. Trish and the kid's are in town and it's so great to see them! More pics of that to come!

Anyhow, that's our Christmas in the short version....I hope you and your family had a good one!

Check me out guys in my new high chair eating real food!! Christian is so much fun these days and he is growing so fast! He is doing so many new things all the time it's amazing to watch! He is always trying to sit up on his own, but can't quite get all the way up so basically he is just constantly doing half sit ups, he is working on his 6-pack I guess!! It's quite cute. He can't even relax in the bath tub, he just tries to sit up the whole time, it's hilarious!

He is very active these days and he is definitely ALL BOY! He is really eating his baby food well having it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with his bottles of course. It's awesome, but kind of sad because he is growing up!

He is very aware of his surroundings and has a great personality. He is always smiling and laughing, especially at Chloe. He really loves to watch her and smile at her. They are awesome together!

So every year we go to the pumpkin patch by our house! This year was a lot different though because not only was it Jason, myself, and Chloe, but we had Christian as well!! It was a lot of fun and made for great pictures!! It took me a while to get them on here, but here they are for your enjoyment! Christian of course had no clue as to where we were or what we were doing, all he wanted to do was eat his hands! Chloe loved it and her and Jason carved the pumpkin that night as they always do! Gotta love fall! It's really neat though to see the pictures every year and how much Chloe has grown up, she is amazing and oh so beautiful! Next year Christian's pics will be a lot different too, I will just be trying to keep up with him I'm sure! :)

Great Pumpkin Fun Run!!

My mom and I signed up for the Great Pumpkin Fun Run downtown! It's a charity run/walk for the Texas Heart Institute. We went to the fun run a few years back, but had not gone since then!! It's great for the kids, they encourage people and kids to wear halloween costumes and come enjoy the fun activities after the race. We did the kids part of the race which was the Goblin Gallop, basically it's a jog/walk 1 mile course. I was a little worried about how Christian would do, only concerned about if it would interfere with his feeding time. But I thought, you know, it'll be fine and it will be fun! Sure enough, Christian decided he didn't want to eat this morning when he got up so I was really worried then that he would want to eat right in the middle of our walk. :) But he didn't, he really enjoyed it. He wore his basketball costume and hung out in his stroller checking out all the people!! I'm hoping next year we have Chloe the same weekend so both kids can go! Chloe would have loved this! Anyhow, it was a lot of fun, it was an early morning, but what a great start to our weekend!

Christian is getting SO big! He really looks like a big baby boy now! He is eating a lot, sleeping through the night, and putting on the pounds!! Jason and I even noticed today he has cankles! Pretty cute! He is so much fun, he smiles all the time and just talks and talks. It's awesome! I am loving motherhood, there is nothing better! Christian is very aware of his surroundings, especially when sports are on TV, his eyes are glued to it. He notices everything and loves to interact. He is starting to really grab stuff and he loves it when I hold him so he can "stand up on his own". He does really well trying to stand and he is holding is head very well. Still a tiny bit wobbly, but it won't be much longer before he is holding it with no problem at all. Here are some recent pics of him!

Christian's 2 Month Check-Up

Okay, so today was the day for his shots! The day I have been anticipating to see his progress, but of course dreading as I know they will stick him with those mean needles!

Everything seemed to go great and he seems to be progressing and developing as to plan. He now weighs 11.7 lbs, which is in the 50 % percentile, which is average. Dr. Isenhower was very pleased with his weight and so was I since the little guy spits up with the best of them! He is now at 24 1/4 inches long, which is in the 90th percentile in height. Seems to still be considered a "tall" one. We hope that keeps up!

The red stuff on his cheeks and chin is in fact eczema and she recommended using vasoline (Thanks Kim :)) to heal it right up pretty quick. We had been using Aveeno, which has helped, but this should speed it up pretty quick. She mentioned eczema is pretty normal in babies. He also has cradle cap, which basically means his head is dry. Rubbing baby oil on it 10 minutes before bath should do the trick there. Let's see, what else. Oh yes, his infamous red toes!! They are in fact in grown, (of course they are). This is apparently a little normal as well. We are to (after bath time) rub neosporin on the red area and massage/push the toe nail forward to grow in the right direction. Anyhow, all else looks good.

SHOT TIME----- YUCK! He received 3 shots today, and he did as well as to be expected when your getting stuck in the leg 3 times with needles! He cried of course, but settled down pretty quick and went to sleep. I have to admit, I actually did NOT cry, can you believe it? I cannot, I don't know why I didn't. Regardless, we both survived! We had Minna there to help too and we appreciated that a lot.

Okay, so that's that. Just wanted to give you an update on his 2-month progress.

Ok so I realize I have not blogged in almost a month! A lot has happened in that time, as I'm sure you can imagine! Christian no longer was the quiet baby, he started to become extremely fussy to the point where he was screaming bloody murder!! We finally decided it was time to get him checked out because it was not normal behavior for him. We learned that Christian has acid reflux pretty bad and he is now currently on 3 different medications which have helped tremendously. It seemed to get a lot better, not near as fussy and uncomfortable. However, we still noticed about the same time everyday he was fussy. So I talked to his pediatrician thinking it was the medicine that was not working. She said that it sounded like colic since it was the same time everyday. So now we have started a new formula, which of course is SUPER expensive! He is now on Nutramagine. A lot of our friends told us about how it helped their children with colic, almost overnight. It seems to be doing the trick...The only stomach problem left to fix was his constipation. But 1 tablespoon of dark Karo syrup and he is all better now!

But of course in the meantime, we started noticing that his face became really red and rough feeling on his cheeks. At first I didn't think anything of it, thought maybe it was another skin acne thing that came along with being a baby. Of course not, thanks to the help of Carla and Candace we discovered it was eczema. But, Aveeno cleared that right up. Now the newest thing we have noticed on our little guy is that both of his big toes are really red on the inside. So, once we figure that one out we'll get back to ya!! I'm hoping it's not some kind of ingrown toe nail which Jason and I both had and have. We'll see. Jason seems to think it might be, who knew infants could have this problem????

I will take Christian to his 2-month check up this Thursday. I'm quite nervous because he will be getting shots.....I'm sure he will be just fine though!!

Oh and he is finally starting to sleep through the night!! It's great!

To give you an update on his size, Jason measured him the other night and he is 24 inches long and weighs about 10-12 pounds. He is growing and looking more adorable with each day... He looks like ALL BOY and still has his big ole blue eyes like his daddy, so cute!!

Chloe is doing great. She started Pre-K this past week. She is attending at Good Shepard Church in Friendswood everyday for 3 hours and the rest of the day stays with Carla. It was funny, I asked her after her first day at school what they did. She said "We mixed chemicals and they exploded!" Not typically the response you get, or at least, not what I expected. But she seems to be really liking it. She is very tall too and is wearing a size 12-13 shoe. She is tan and lean. You can definitely tell she is going to be a little athlete. She is a fiesty little thing with a lot of energy. She still just adores Christian and helps out in any way she can. She likes to tell you exactly what he needs, she seems to think she is "2nd mom" to him. We could not be more pleased with their little relationship.

Well, I must go, and I'm sorry it took so long to post. That's pretty much everything with the kids in a nutshell. Jason and I are doing fine. Just trying to keep up with them!!

I really wanted to get some pictures taken of Christian naked because I think they are so adorable. He will only be this little once and I wanted to make sure we captured that to have forever. Jason and I took him to Babies R Us to get some pictures done on Wednesday. They did a great job, and the process was a lot of fun. I must say, I think he looks so handsome! FYI- Christian is 1 month old in these pics, well almost, he turns 1 month old tomorrow!!

We are doing great!! Everyday I am spending as much time adoring, loving, and kissing on him as school will be starting soon and I know I will miss him like crazy! I will miss being able to hold and kiss him whenever I want to. I absolutely can't stand to be away from him, and when I have to be I hurry home fast. :) Jason and I are so happy that God has blessed us with such an amazing son. He is a great baby, we really have nothing to complain about. Chloe has taken to him so well also, what a great big sister she is. She adores him and loves to help us out in any way. She does not even call him Christian, she refers to him as her "baby brother". It's so cute.

Today we had an appointment with the surgeon about the skin tag on his ear. They were able to remove it with no problem. Christian cried some, but I tell you he is a tough little guy. Mommy and Daddy NOT SO MUCH! We are big wussies. He is doing just fine and we should be able to take the little bandage off within a week. Anyhow, life is great here at the Pillow's casa, enjoying summer with the kiddos! Enjoy some more pics. Love you!

CHRISTIAN TYLER PILLOW HAS ARRIVED!!

We are so blessed to announce the arrival of our little man, Christian. He was born July 3rd at 8:06 pm. He weighed 8 lbs. 3.5 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long. The labor process was somewhat long. Jason and I arrived at the hospital that morning at 8:30 after I experienced no sleep the night before due to mild contractions every 5-10 minutes. The next morning at 7 am I woke Jason up and said let's go for a walk around the block....I wanted my contractions to speed up!! Well it worked, one time around and they were 3-4 minutes apart. However, I was still only 1 1/2 centimeters dialated and 75% ephased when we arrived that morning. The doctor determined though because my contractions were then 6 minutes apart and lasting 2 minutes each that I was in early labor and they admitted me!! Thank goodness, I was so afraid they would send us home! So, the contractions grew stronger and my labor nurse Angela suggested I go ahead and get the epidural....I was fine with is as long as it would last all day and especially through the LABOR! Anyhow, my epidural went in around 11am and every hour I dialated more and more, with also the help of patoson (not sure how you spell that word!) SO, at 8:06 pm Christian arrived. I only ended up having to push for about 15-20 minutes, but there was one problem that occured. Christian had what was called Shoulder Displasia, which basically means his shoulders were stuck because of the way he was turned. That is the main reason why his head looks so blue. It is much better now. It was a bit of a scare for everyone, except me, because I had no idea there was anything wrong. Even after the 2 nurses jumped on the bed and started pushing him out of my stomach....that was crazy!!! But for a rookie you just kind of think it's normal I guess. Anyway's, long story short, he is here and completely healthy! He is gorgeous, very tall and thin...long toes and fingers. Big feet and hands. Blue eyes. He is amazing and we are so thrilled. Today's Festivities...Painting & Bowling!!!!

We finished our paintings and took our fun to the bowling alley! Chloe has impecable form, she runs to the lane and chunks her ball down it, it's quite funny, but it get's the job done! She is very proud when she knocks down the pins! I of course could not participate because of my current HUGE state, but had a great time watching Jason and Chloe! How cute are they?

What a day we had today!! We met some of the bible study girls up at the Painted Potter to paint some stuff! Kim and Shannon gave Jason a hard time for being the only dad in Painted Potter, but Jason was secure in his manhood! He painted something for Christian. We all had FUN!

We took Chloe to the Astros game last night, but of course we first had to go to Wal-Mart and get her her very first glove, bat, and balls. She has been begging us to get it for her for a while now, she was very excited! But of course, we forgot her glove in the car so she didn't have it at the game, but luckily no foul balls came our way! She had a great time, enjoy the pics!

Seems she is not the only girl who has a thing for Craig Biggio!! :)

My mom, aunt Krissy, and cousin Lisa came over Tuesday and we had a girl's day! We had lunch, got our nails done, and then went back to the house and finished up last minute stuff in Christian's room, but most importantly got the cradle done! Jason's not a big fan of painting, to say the least, so he was very happy to have the help! Jason and I decided to paint the cradle an ivory color so us girl's went to Lowe's and got the primer and paint color. My mom and Lisa primed the cradle, and then of course we had to take a dinner break and go to Gringo's!! YUMM! Then my mom and Aunt Krissy headed back to the other side of town. Lisa stayed the night and she stayed up until midnight painting the cradle. She did a magnificent job, it looks awesome!! So here it is, all finished and ready for Christian!

Daddy's Project

How more proud could a wife be to see what her husband has re-created for his son to sleep in his first couple of months here on earth! This was the cradle/bassinet that Jason hand made for Chloe, and has since redone for Christian. It is a project he has been proudly working on for some time now. It is almost finished. He has completley redone the sides, sanded the entire cradle, and put it all back together. Now all we have to do is decide on a paint color which I'm sure we will do in the next day or so. Just wanted you all to see how talented and proud this again father-to-be is. I'm so proud and so overjoyed. Love you all!

We have a new game called 'Amazing Catches' where you throw the ball out in front and you have to jump out into the water and make an amazing catch!!
